Busan KCC Egis defeated Goyang Sono Skygunners 4-1 in the 2025-2026 KBL Championship Finals to claim the title, becoming the first team in Korean Basketball League history to win the championship after finishing sixth in the regular season. The victory marks Busan KCC’s second championship in three seasons following its 2023-2024 title run and the club’s seventh overall championship, tying Ulsan Hyundai Mobis for the most titles in KBL history. Led by head coach Lee Sang-min, Busan KCC showcased strong teamwork and balanced performances from key players including Heo Hoon, Heo Ung, Song Kyo-chang, Choi Jun-yong and Shawn Long throughout the playoffs. The team lost only one game in both the semifinals against Anyang Jung Kwan Jang and the championship series against Goyang Sono. Busan KCC’s aggressive style of play and solid team chemistry drew large crowds to Sajik Indoor Gymnasium, with the championship series recording consecutive sellout crowds of 10,000 spectators. The club relocated to Busan in August 2023 and currently shares Sajik Indoor Gymnasium with the BNK Sum women’s basketball team. Since the relocation, the Busan Metropolitan Government has carried out major renovations at the venue, including floor replacement, installation of a new electronic scoreboard and seating upgrades to improve the experience for players and fans. Acting Busan Mayor Kim Gyeong-deok said the championship brought pride and joy to Busan citizens and pledged continued support for professional sports and the promotion of local sports culture.
